APDIM Online 2021: Call for Seminars and Poster Abstracts

APDIM Online 2021 Call for Seminars and Poster Abstracts

All AAIM members and non-member affiliates are invited to submit a session and/or poster abstract proposal for APDIM Online 2021 scheduled for Fall 2021. APDIM Online 2021 is September 23–24, 2021.

Submission deadline extended to Wednesday April 28, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Seminars

All seminar sessions will be 45 minutes and presentations will be pre-recorded and broadcast on a scheduled day during APDIM Online 2021. All seminars will include live Q&A following the broadcast recording.

Any changes to session length or format will be confirmed with speaker notifications in June 2021.

Submit seminar proposal

All accepted seminar presenters must complete a CME conflict of interest disclosure form in the AAMC Convey system.  Presenters who do not complete the form by the published deadline will be removed from the agenda, prohibited from speaking, and will not be acknowledged as AAIM speakers.

Poster Abstracts

Research poster abstracts include background or introductory information, aim, methods, the results of the research, and a brief discussion or conclusion.

Programmatic innovation poster abstracts will have a description of how the problem was identified and

explored, descriptions of the innovations, results to date, and discussion/reflection/lessons learned. Tips and tools or works in progress are considered programmatic innovations. 

Submitting presenters will be notified in July 2021. For additional information about the poster abstract format, please review the guidelines for submitting an AAIM poster abstract.

Accepted poster presenters are required to provide a digital poster and record a five-minute presentation for the APDIM21 virtual poster session. Accepted poster presenters who do not provide a digital poster and recorded presentation by the published deadline will have their poster removed from the agenda and be prohibited from presenting.

Poster Abstract Guidelines

Tips for a Successful Poster Abstract Submission

  • Keep poster abstract titles brief and to the point.
  • Use title case for poster abstract titles (ex. A Novel Curriculum for Systems-Based Practice); do not use all capital letters.
  • Poster abstracts that present clinical studies or clinical research out of the context of student, resident, or fellowship education or programmatic innovation will not be reviewed.
  • Poster abstract descriptions should be no longer than 350 words.
  • Poster abstract marketing description will be used in all promotional materials for the virtual poster session; this should be no longer than 250 words.

Deadline

The deadline to submit seminar and poster abstracts proposals has been extended to Wednesday April 28, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

APDIM Program Planning Committee will review all seminar and poster abstract proposals and reserve the right to refuse any proposal without cause.

Please note:

  • AAIM does not waive registration fees or reimburse expenses for seminar presenters.
  • Each seminar may have no more than four total presenters.
  • Seminar presenters may not participate in more than one proposal.
  • All APDIM Online 2021 seminars will be 45 minutes in length.
  • Seminar presenters will be required to pre-record their presentation for broadcast during the meeting.
  • Seminar presenters will be required to engage with participants during their session using the virtual platform tools for chat and Q&A.
  • The primary submitter is responsible for providing all co-presenter names and contact information to AAIM.
  • All seminar communications will be sent to primary submitter only.
