Renowned thought leader Lisa Rosenbaum, MD, will discuss the state of medical training in the United States with a focus on distinguishing necessary from unnecessary discomforts. The talk will consider both intrinsic and external forces that are changing the nature of medical education and how these forces have created tensions in the educational environments around the rigors of training. She will explore the role narrative plays in shaping the perceptions of the work environments and our capacity to find joy and meaning in our work.
Dr. Rosenbaum is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
