Updated Examinee Performance Report Coming to NBME Comprehensive Basic Science Exam

NBME is updating the Examinee Performance Report for the Comprehensive Basic Science Exam (CBSE) to improve clarity, usability, and actionability for examinees preparing for USMLE Step 1. Updates are based on needs identified by students, academic advisors, and other members of medical schools. Multiple listening sessions with students and schools, user testing of different prototypes, best practices in assessment reporting, and a focus on accessibility and scoring validity were used to develop the updated report. The updated report is expected to be available in mid-September. A notice will be shared via NBME Updates once the report has launched; additional support will be available via an updated sample report and an updated guidance document providing additional details about the report.
