VA Issues RFP for Pilot Program on GME and Residency

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Academic Affiliations has issued a request for proposal for the VA Pilot Program on Graduate Medical Education and Residency.

The pilot program provides funding to establish new residency programs by facilities operated by Indian Health Service, Indian Tribes, Tribal organizations, Federally Qualified Health Centers, or the Department of War. Other health care facilities in areas designated by the VA as underserved are also eligible. The VA will not use this program to increase resident positions at VA facilities. There are two models: Stipends and Benefits for Individual Residents and Costs Associated with New Residency Programs at Covered Facilities.
