The Alliance Welcomes New CEO Erica J. Holland

Erica J. HollandThe Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine is pleased to announce that Erica J. Holland will serve as AAIM Chief Executive Officer (CEO) beginning June 2, 2025. As part of this staff transition, Dr. Parsons will continue to serve as AAIM President.
  
As the CEO, Ms. Holland will act as a key advisor to the AAIM Board of Directors for strategy and vision and ensure the effective and efficient execution of the Alliance’s strategic priorities. Ms. Holland will be responsible for the overall organization and culture of the Alliance, which includes the day-to-day operations and driving the workforce and resources toward strategic goals. The CEO also has shared responsibility as the external spokesperson, representative and advocate for AAIM members. 
  
Ms. Holland has over two decades of experience as a medical association executive. She joins the Alliance from the American Society of Breast Surgeons where she served as the Executive Director since 2021. She previously held the position of Assistant Executive Director at the Society of Interventional Radiology from 2002-2021. Her professional competencies include connecting strategy to measurable outcomes, the alignment of governance structure to mission, diversification of revenue streams, responsible financial management to support organizational goals and the development of innovative education and programs.
  
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in history from The College of William and Mary in Virginia. 
  
The Alliance members, leaders, and staff look forward to Ms. Holland's leadership as AAIM continues to grow, evolve, and serve the needs of more than 13,000 faculty and administrator members in departments of internal medicine in medical schools and teaching hospitals.
