Community Initiative

Giving back to communities hosting Academic Internal Medicine Week is a priority and each year, a new local nonprofit benefits.

In Columbus, AIMW24 attendees supported Freedom a la Carte, a leading Columbus charity empowering survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation; in New Orleans, AIMW25 attendees contributed to Covenant House, supporting homeless youth with urgent care and shelter; in Seattle, AIMW26 attendees donated to the Seattle Public Library Foundation, which buys books and supports educational programs throughout the city. Each year, the Alliance leads by example in making donations to the selected organizations.
