Patient care-related litigation is a harsh reality of medicine. The care teams that involve residents face unique legal vulnerabilities and challenges in the litigation process. This webinar is an opportunity to learn about the steps involved in the litigation process from occurrence to conclusion and the different directions it can take under different situations. The learners will learn how the delay in diagnosis, interdepartmental communications, and deviation from the standard of care impacts the legal process.  This webinar will teach about preventive strategies to deal with the legal vulnerabilities of teams involving residents. Participants will learn about these strategies from the team involving a medicolegal professional expert and a program that applied those strategies to their practice on resident teaching services.
