Why Join the Alliance?

UME Resources

  • Research tools: AAIM supports physician-scientist initiatives and maintains the Medical Education Research Committee to provide assistance with members' scholarly projects.

Conferences and Education

  • Our annual Academic Internal Medicine Week (AIMW) is the premier conference for academic IM professionals This three day conference brings together more than 3,000 professionals each spring, offering a multitude of dynamic plenaries, interactive sessions, an exhibit hall, and both social and networking opportunities.

  • AAIM developed three foundational courses offered in our Digital Learning Center at a steep discount for members. The three courses are offered seasonally each year, running from 6 to 12 weeks and fusing asynchronous learning with several live Zoom sessions throughout.

  • The Alliance also hosts over 60 webinars per year on timely UME and GME topics. Members join live webinars for free and have access to recordings through the learning library.

Networking and Community

The Alliance offers members multiple ways to engage with colleagues. When you join AAIM, you are automatically added to the member community most relevant to your work environment. Members can also join one of the nearly 100 other communities separated by interests, work type, or volunteer group. Members gain access to AAIM's searchable member directory to find and connect with your fellow professionals. (Note that member communities and directory require login to access.) The Alliance maintains a Mentoring Program with rolling enrollment, where all members can expand their network and professional skills by signing up to be a mentor, a mentee, or both.
